My Jag E-type Restoration Project
Final steps before starting to put it all back together

 .
Bonnet, bare metal
Bonnet, stripped to bare metal ready for four primer/blocking steps before it is painted.  The Bonnet took one extra blocking step than the body because the long sweeping lines on this body part will show up irregularities much more than the body will.
It also took a lot of body work to get it looking like this.  Remember the bent strut on page 2?  Well it looks like whoever owned it in the past hit something harder than I though and did a lot of damage to the under part of the bonnet.  The sloppy body work consisted of punching little holes into the sheet metal to pull it out (hundreds of them!) then filled it with bondo that was separating from the metal, allowing water to get behind it.  Talk about a lot of unexpected expense in the body repair allocation........

Painted tub, rear view
Tub after three primer/blocking steps and painted the final 'British Racing Green'.  At this point it still has not been buffed out, but it's looking pretty good

Painted tub, front view
Front view.  Next steps are to rebuild the front brakes and steering components and then start to put it all back together.....

Painted Bonnet
At this point, the bonnet hasn't been painted on the outside, so this is a place holder for a future picture
